About DoAG

Introduction

The Department of Agriculture (DoAG) under School of Science is the youngest department of Kathmandu University established in 2020. The department offers Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (B.Sc. Ag.). The B.Sc. Agriculture Program will run at famous Agricultural City -Panchkhal Municipality as an expansion of the School of Science Program in Bagmati Province, the Government of Nepal with a motto “Knowledge and Skill: Campus to Community" from this academic year 2021/2022.

Department of Agriculture under School of Science offers Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (B.Sc. Ag.) at Kathmandu University with slogan “Learn Smart Grow Smart”. This interdisciplinary program encompasses many different aspects of agriculture. Courses include agriculture technology and climate smart farming, precision farming, farm mechanization, soil science, agricultural extension, natural resources management, agribusiness, and production technology. A wide range of learning models including laboratory work, workshops, project-based learning, field or farm visits are embedded in the curriculum for empowering students to apply the theoretical knowledge to practical endeavors inside and outside of the classrooms.

Aim of the program:

  • To produce technically and academically sound graduates in modern agriculture.
  • To connect agriculture with the contemporary technology for socio-economic growth and nation.
